TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. We are a sub contractor not a prime contractor. All other trades, ie: Electric, Gas, Plumbing, etc. are not the responsibility of Hood Depot. Hood Depot does not provide drawings for these trades. Hood Depot should not be responsible for these trades. If the building department requires these trades to be under a prime permit the end user needs to hire a GC.
2. Cancellation fees: A 10% cancellation fee will be applied to all orders that have been processed. A 20% cancellation fee will be applied to all orders that Engineered shop drawings have been completed. Once equipment is built and an order is cancelled invoices up through the fabrication payment will be owed. Equipment, once paid, will be the right of the customer.
3. Per terms on contract permits, if applicable, will be paid by Hood Depot and invoiced. This invoice is due within 10 days. If permits are not paid within 10 days the project will be placed on hold. Any permit fees in excess of $750.00 will need to be paid by the customer ahead of time. Payment method will be determined on a job by job basis based on the city allowances. Some will allow credit card payments and some only check. Our Sales Engineer will let you know the options at the time the permit is ready.
4. Any fees being charged by the city due to a result of Hood Depot will be paid by Hood Depot. Any fees being charged by the building department(s) as a result outside of Hood Depot will be paid by the customer. It will be the customers responsibility to be reimbursed by any other parties that may have caused these fees.
5. Final inspections - Multiple trades need to be present at the final inspections. Which trades are dependent on the building department, job criteria, etc. All trades are responsible for their own costs associated with any re-inspections. We are in contract with our customer not other trades. If inspections fail or get cancelled after we are present on the site for the inspection will not be charged the first time. Any failed or cancelled inspection as a result outside of Hood Depot\'s control will be charged a trip charge of $725.00. In addition, all city related reinspection or cancellation fees will be required to be paid by the customer unless it is the fault of Hood Depot.
6. If permits expire due to delays not under the control of Hood Depot all costs associated with renewing permits will be billed at actual cost. These costs will include Hood Depots time, city fees, expediting fees, etc.
7. Per notes on quotation first payment is non refundable. Once drawings are complete 20% is considered complete. Costs associated beyond that will be calculated and the balance given as a credit towards future jobs. Project management is part of those fees. The longer the job is open the more project management fees there will be.
9. If invoices are not paid within terms final payment will be due prior to calling the final inspection.
10. FPL rebates - Any FPL rebates showing as a credit on the Quotaion/Proposal is based on Hood Depot International Inc receiving that rebate from FPL. In the event the rebate given from FPL to Hood Depot International Inc. is less than the amount on the proposal the difference will be invoiced when determined. If for any reason FPL rebate is not received at all the rebate credit on the Quotation/Proposal will be added back to one of the remaining invoices.
11. Prices on Quotations/Proposals are valid for 30 days unless specifically written in the contract otherwise.
12. Once an order is entered if the fabrication is not requested within 90 days Hood Depot reserves the right to increase the price based on supporting documentation that material or labor costs have increased.
13. If the hood installation is substantially complete and the balance of the job doesn\'t become ready for finals within 3 months the job may be subject to additionally fees. ie: Permit associated fees, reactivation fees, delay fees, etc. Definition of substantially complete is hoods, ducts, fans and components of hood system are installed with exception to anything that could not be complete due to other trades and the fire suppression system(s) are/is not part of this work.
14. If our supports for the hoods, ductwork, fans, or any equipment provided needs to penetrate a fire rated wall. We will open the wall as required but it is the responsibility of others to patch the wall to code or listings.
